Your photos and privacy

What we collect

When you upload a photo, we receive the image and any information included in that file. We also keep the crop, size, generated preview and guides needed to create your design.

When you sign in, we receive your account identifier and verified email address. Orders and customer support may include your contact information, delivery details, order history and messages. Our server logs also record technical information such as IP addresses and requests.

How we use it

We use this information to create and save your designs, prepare and support your orders, respond to you, and keep the service working securely. Optional eye detection helps preserve details in a picture; it is not used to identify the people in your photo.

Our staff will review your photo and generated design as part of preparing your kit and checking its quality. Staff may also view them when helping you with an order or support request.

We will ask your permission before using your photos or designs in our marketing.

Services that help us

We use Amazon Web Services to host the website and store its data, Shopify for customer accounts and checkout, and Fastmail for business email. These services receive information needed for their part of the service. Shopify processes payment details through its checkout.

Our website uses cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, maintain your collection and reconnect to previews. Shopify may use its own cookies and technologies on its account and checkout pages.

Optional website analytics

If you choose Allow analytics, we use Google Analytics to understand visits, traffic sources, time spent on the site, and actions such as generating a preview, adding a kit to the cart and starting checkout. Google receives basic browser and device information and uses analytics cookies to distinguish visits. We do not send your photos, filenames, email address or private design identifiers through this tracking. We do not enable advertising personalization or session recordings.

Analytics stays off unless you allow it. You can decline without affecting the generator, saved designs or checkout, and change your choice using Analytics preferences in the footer. Changing your choice stops future collection in this browser; it does not erase data already collected. Your preference is stored in this browser, so you may need to choose again on another device or after clearing browser storage.

Saved designs and removal

Signing in lets you return to saved designs on another device. Guest collections depend on the browser used to create them.

Removing a design from Your designs removes it from that collection and cart. It does not automatically erase every copy of its files: artwork may still be associated with a checkout, an order or a backup.

How long information stays

We keep information to provide saved designs, fulfill orders, handle support and maintain necessary business records. We do not currently promise automatic deletion of uploads after a fixed number of days.

Backup copies are kept separately for recovery. Deleting information from the working system does not immediately erase every backup. Contact us if you would like information removed; we will explain what can be deleted and what needs to be retained.

Your requests

Email help@numberandbrush.com to request access, correction or deletion, or to ask a privacy question. We may need to verify that the account or order is yours before making changes. Please do not email passwords or payment-card numbers.
